A post-mortem examination has identified a preliminary cause of death as traumatic brain injury
The man who died following an attack in Banbury last week has been named as 39-year-old Neil Comins.
Thames Valley Police were called to Cope Road at around 3.20am last Wednesday (January 3) following a report that a man had been assaulted. Mr Comins was taken to hospital but subsequently passed away.
A Home Office post-mortem examination revealed a preliminary cause of death as traumatic brain injury.
Mr Comins’ next of kin continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.
A 48-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed until 21 March.
A second Banbury man, who’s 39, had been bailed following his arrest on suspicion of murder. He has now been re-arrested and remains in police custody.
