Council’s relocation to Castle Quay should happen in February
08/11/2024
A planning appeal will be the last business in the council chamber
Cherwell District Council’s operation should be up-and-running in Castle Quay during February.
The council announced its intention to relocate its headquarters from Bodicote House to the shopping centre, which it also owns, in August 2023.
At Thursday night’s Planning Committee meeting the Head of Development Management, Paul Seckington noted an appeal inquiry would begin on February 17, 2025 and added “which is when we will move to our new offices”.
He went on to explain: “The plan is that the inquiry will still take place in here. So this floor [the Council Chamber] will still remain and the inquiry will take place here.”
The appeal relates to a refused planning application to build on land at Huscote Farm to the east of the A361, near Nethercote. Greystoke CB want to build warehouses on 140,000 square metres of farmland.
