Disqualified driver jailed for causing death of a woman on M40

The collision happened between Banbury and Gaydon in September last year

A disqualified driver who caused the death of a woman on the M40 north of Banbury has been sent to prison.

Akash Deep Singh, who was 23 at the time, was driving a van which was involved in a collision with another vehicle during the evening of Saturday September 28 last year.  

A woman in her 50s lost her life and a man travelling with her was seriously injured.

At Warwick Crown Court on Monday Singh pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing death by driving whilst disqualified.

He was jailed for 7 tears and 8 months.   He was also disqualified from driving for 7 years.
