Drivers warned to plan ahead as roadworks in Adderbury close Oxford Road
02/04/2024
The X4 bus will be affected as the A4260 is closed due to sewer repairs
Drivers who normally use the Oxford Road between Adderbury and Deddington will have to find an alternative route over the next couple of weeks.
From today a section of the main A4260 will be closed in Adderbury between the southern side of The Green and the Duchess Bridge. The closure is to allow sewer repairs to be completed.
Whilst emergency service vehicles and those needing access to their properties will be allowed to pass, others will need to allow extra time to head south.
The official diversion route uses the A361 through Bloxham, joining the A44 at Chipping Norton before heading south to rejoin the A4260 close to Woodstock.
The closure will not affect Stagecoach’s S4 bus route, which normally heads though the main centre of Adderbury via Berry Hill Road, but the X4 will be diverted to also follow the S4 route.
The Oxford Road is expected to reopen by April 13.
