13/04/2022
The sixth stage of the 2022 Women’s Tour arrives on Saturday June 11
The route for the 2022 Women’s Tour cycling race has been revealed with Hook Norton, Milcombe, South Newington and Great Tew all being visited by the elite cyclists.
The final sixth stage of this year’s event will set off from Chipping Norton on Saturday June 11. After a loop up through the edge of North Oxfordshire the race will head to Enstone, Charlbury and Carterton before visiting the southern towns in the county and making its way to the finish line in Oxford.
The 18-team field will see 108 professional riders weaving their way through towns, villages and rural areas – the largest ever in the eight-year history of the Women’s Tour. All 14 of the world’s best teams will be in action, including Team SD Worx, the world’s number one team
Highlights of this year’s race will once again be shown on ITV4.
This will be the third time the Women’s Tour cycling race has visited the county as part of a three-year partnership between race organiser SweetSpot, Oxfordshire County Council, and the city and district councils. Last year the first stage of the race was run between a start from Bicester and the finish line in Banbury.
