Ellen wins MP’s Christmas Card competition
07/12/2022
Over 100 designs were submitted this year
A year six pupil at Cropredy Primary School has been named as the winner of MP Victoria Prentis’ annual Christmas Card competition. Ellen Cherry’s design has been printed as the picture on the front of the festive greeting Mrs Prentis will this year send to family, friends and colleagues.
The competition was open to all primary school age children in North Oxfordshire with a theme of “Angels”.
Mrs Prentis was a guest at the Cropredy Primary School assembly last Friday (December 2), when she presented Ellen with her prize, watched by her family and friends. This includes a trip to parliament for Ellen and her parents in the New Year.
Over 100 designs were submitted for the competition this year.
Mrs Prentis said: “I was delighted to meet [Ellen] last week along with the rest of the school and present her with her prize. I explained to Ellen that when I showed her card to the Prime Minister he commented how professional it looked! Ellen will also visit Parliament in the New Year with her parents which I am really looking forward to.
“I would like to thank all the children who took part this year. A huge well done to my runners-up, including Marcelo, Sylvia and Angus from Queensway School, Cianna from Heyford Park School and Emily from Bure Park Primary School who all submitted such wonderful designs.”
Head teacher at Cropredy School, Phil Goldsworthy, said: “I am thrilled that Ellen’s design was chosen to be on our MP’s Christmas card. Ellen is a worthy winner and a credit to our School.”
