Emergency services deal with car in M40 ditch
14/01/2022
The vehicle left the carriageway just south of Banbury
Emergency services were called to a car which had ended up in the ditch next to the M40 just south of the Banbury exit late on Thursday evening. The vehicle had left the carriageway on the northbound side just over half a mile before junction 11.
The driver escaped with only minor injuries.
Fire crews from Bicester, Banbury and Kidlington Fire Station attended, alongside the ambulance service and police.
One lane was closed on the motorway whilst the incident was dealt with.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: “We have seen an increase in road traffic collisions lately with the winter conditions, please drive carefully.” They suggested drivers take advantage of the driving tips here.
