Expect increased police visibility until the end of January

“We will continue to focus on effective local policing”

Thames Valley Police will be increasing police visibility between now and the end of January in a move to crack down on crime.

The move will see them working closely with partners to ensure people feel safe, as part of the national Safer Streets Winter of Action campaign.

We can expect to see neighbourhood officers on patrol.

Days of action will be run for targeted operations to tackle issues such as the illegal use of e-scooters, shoplifting, street crime, and other offences that affect communities the most.

Assistant Chief Constable, Christian Bunt, said: “This winter, we will continue our momentum following the Safer Streets Summer campaign. We will continue to focus on effective local policing – building trust, understanding local concerns, and being where our communities need us most.

“While crime trends differ by season, issues such as antisocial behaviour and retail crime remain. Working with partners and communities, we’ll implement preventative measures and take action against offenders to reduce crime in Thames Valley.”
