Cameras were used to track down the culprits

The moving of items in Brackley Cemetery has been tracked down to a family of thirsty foxes.

Brackley Town Council used camera surveillance around the cemetery to identify the culprits after personal items at graves were disturbed.

They didn’t capture any footage of humans damaging graves or personal items, but did spot a family of foxes playing and searching for water amongst the headstones.   The dry period has made it more difficult for the foxes to find places to drink.

The council’s maintenance teams have retrieved a number of moved items, which has been placed in the lost property area so they can be collected by their rightful owners.
