Subjects covered included the government’s food strategy, the pig supply chain review and farming rules for water
Banbury’s MP Victoria Prentis met up with local farmers and National Farmers Union (NFU) members last week to discuss the government’s food strategy and other agricultural issues. The meeting took place at Meadowsweet Farm in Horley last Friday.
As well as being the area’s local MP, Mrs Prentis also works as a Minister of State for Farming, Fisheries and Food.
The meeting was hosted by Martin Hamer who is the Chair of NFU in North Oxfordshire.
Mrs Prentis said: “I was pleased to be able to discuss our Food Strategy, launched last week, which aims to boost domestic food production, promote local produce and back British farmers.
“We also discussed a wide range of important topics including our future farming schemes, pig supply chain review and farming rules for water.
“Thank you to NFU North Oxfordshire for organising.”
