Fatal collision near Hook Norton

The accident happened between Rye Hill and The Gate Hangs High pub
Witnesses are being sought after a woman in her seventies lost her life in a road traffic collision near Hook Norton yesterday (August 23).
The lady had been driving a red Toyota Yaris on the road between Rye Hill and The Gate Hangs High pub. Her vehicle had been travelling eastbound at around 5pm when it hit a tree.
The lady’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
PC Mark Jones, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester police station, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the families and friends of the woman who sadly died.
“I am appealing for any witnesses to this collision to please come forward.
“Also, if you have any dash-cam footage and were driving in the area around the time of the collision, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
