Fatal collision on the A361 near Swerford

A blue Audi TT collided with a tree on Thursday evening
A man died after his car collided with a tree on the A361 between Banbury and Chipping Norton on Thursday evening. The crash happened near Swerford just before 11pm.
The driver was a man in his thirties. His blue Audi TT was travelling towards Banbury when it left the road and hit a tree near the junction for the B4031. Sadly he died at the scene.
Its thought no other vehicles were involved.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and specially trained officers are supporting them.
Investigating officer PC Sian Carter, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “Sadly, a man has died following this collision and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
“I would like to appeal for anyone that witnessed the collision, or saw the car prior to it, to contact us by calling 101 or via our website, quoting investigation reference number 43230206279.
“At this time, we are not aware of any other vehicles being involved.
“I would also ask anyone with a dash-camera who was driving in the area at the time to check their footage and let us know if it has captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
