Fire fighters tackled a fire in the basement

An investigation is underway after a fire at Cash Converters on Banbury’s High Street on Wednesday afternoon.   Crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were called to the building at 4.45pm.

The blaze was in the basement.   Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used high pressure hose reels to enter the basement and extinguish the fire.

Two fire appliances from Banbury and one from Hook Norton attended the incident. A fire investigation has begun.

Crews left the scene at 11pm.
