Thousands tuck into tasty treats from around the world as Food and Drink Festival returns
“We’ve bought some of the rapeseed products because we loved it, we’ve bought Turkish delights and cashews nuts, and we’ve just bought blackcurrant and rhubarb cider!” That’s what three happy visitors to Banbury’s Food and Drink Festival told us, delighted with their purchases on Sunday afternoon.
As the event made a successful post pandemic return they added: “We’ve missed it not being here – we love it!”
Around 100 traders came to town offering treats and flavours from around the world, with thousands of people taking advantage of the opportunity to relax, socialise and enjoy scrumptious delights.
Stalls in the Market Place were stacked high with a wide variety of eats and drinks – and shoppers were faced with mouth-watering choices as they browsed the displays.
Cooking demonstrations by celebrity chef Paul Da Costa Greaves were well attended and audiences went home with some new ideas for exciting meals. Paul also found time to talk to his audiences before and after his shows.

Alfresco eating was popular and tables and chairs were set out to enable shoppers to relax, eat, and drink. Hundreds of people wined and dined in the fresh air – sampling the goods they’d just bought.
Music came from four fabulous live acts – giving local solo performers the chance to show their talents. Leigh Chambers, Paul Proctor, Rebecca Mileham and Pete Watkins kept the crowd entertained.
