Wilson’s time with Banbury United ended after the club’s relegation from the National League North
Former Banbury United manager Kevin Wilson has joined the League 2 side Harrogate Town. He’s taken on the role of Academy Lead Professional Development Phase Coach.
Wilson’s time as first team manager at Banbury United ended after the club’s relegation from the National League North at the end of last season. He had only been appointed in January.
On his new role looking after Harrogate’s upcoming talent Wilson said: “I’m trying to give them the career that I had as there’s no better career than being a professional footballer, there’s a lot of work needed and a lot of attitude and application required, but we’ll certainly be working hard with them.
Wilson was born in Banbury and first joined Banbury United at the age of 17. His on-pitch performance didn’t go unnoticed with Derby County paying a transfer fee of £25,000 to Banbury to secure him – a record amount for the club.
Playing for Northern Ireland Wilson was capped 42 times.
Since Wilson’s departure Banbury United have appointed Simon Hollyhead to the role of first team manager.
