Funds urgently needed for Clubhouse roof repairs

The weather has landed Banbury United a double whammy

After months of severe weather sections of the clubhouse roof at Banbury United have deteriorated badly.    The club say that if repairs are not carried out soon the damage will worsen leading to far greater costs – and potentially the loss of use of the Clubhouse altogether.

The weather has caused a double whammy as a number of postponed fixtures have been rearranged on less favourable dates which significantly reduces the club’s matchday income.   As a result they have been unable to set aside the funds needed to replace the roof.

In a statement the club said: “The Clubhouse is more than just a building. It’s where supporters gather, where volunteers work tirelessly behind the scenes, and where our community comes together on match days.

“We are asking for your support.

“Whether it’s £5, £10 or more, every contribution moves us closer to protecting the future of our club.”

Banbury United recently received a grant of £10,000 towards the project from Banbury Charities and Unite union members at JDE also donated £500.   They are hoping the JustGiving page will raise £6,500 towards the cost of the repairs.
