A teacher from Hill View Primary School in Banbury has been named Primary School Teacher of the Year at United Learning’s national Best in Everyone Awards.

Neil Johnson received his award at a black-tie gala held at the Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield last Friday (June 21).   The Best in Everyone Awards commend those who have excelled across United Learning’s network of nearly 100 schools.

Neil earned the award for his exemplary approach to inclusion and dedication to every child, along with his exceptional teaching abilities.   He was also praised for his extraordinary commitment and for the way in which he goes above and beyond for pupils, willingly taking on additional responsibilities to ensure the needs of all children are met.

With over 20 years of experience under his belt, Neil commands the respect of both colleagues and parents alike for his compassion and child-centred approach.

He said: “I am deeply honoured to accept the Inspirational Teacher of the Year award. This recognition means a lot to me, as it is a testament to the incredible journey we embark on every day in the classroom.

“Teaching is more than a profession; it is a calling to inspire, to nurture, and to ignite the flames of curiosity and passion within each student.   This award is not just a reflection of my efforts, but also of the unwavering support from my fellow colleagues, and, most importantly, my pupils.

“Thank you for this incredible honour.”

Claire Ferens, Executive Principal of Hill View Primary School, said: “I am delighted that Neil has received the ‘Primary School Teacher of the Year’ award.   He is truly deserving of this award, and we are exceptionally lucky to have him at Hill View Primary School.

“Neil’s extraordinary dedication and compassion make him an excellent teacher who is highly valued by the entire school community.”
