Horton Emergency Department “very busy”
30/11/2022
People with minor conditions are likely to wait much longer
“Our Emergency Departments are for genuine emergencies” – that’s the message from the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the face of very busy conditions at the Horton General Hospital.
The Trust issued a statement this morning (Wednesday) warning that anyone visiting the Emergency Department with a minor condition was likely to be waiting much longer, as they prioritised people for treatment in order of clinical need.
Anyone who is unsure where they to go for medical help is asked to call NHS 111. They will be able to offer advice.
Whilst all the Trust’s Emergency Departments are busy it is the one at the Horton General which is noted as being particularly busy.
