Its regarded as the gold standard for endoscopy services

Patients visiting the Horton General Hospital’s endoscopy department can be assured of exceptional care after they were awarded full accreditation by the Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy earlier this year.

The accreditation is regarded as the gold standard for endoscopy services in the UK and recognises excellence in patient care, safety, outcomes, and staff training.

It was awarded following a rigorous assessment of the department, which was praised for patient-centred care, efficient service delivery, and strong clinical governance.

Each year the department treats thousands of people, diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions.

Endoscopy Sister, Soumya Varghese, said: “We are delighted to receive JAG accreditation, which reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of our multidisciplinary team. We are committed to providing safe, effective, and compassionate care for every patient, and this recognition is a testament to that commitment.”
