A police helicopter was used following reports the animal had attacked a deer

An investigation is underway following reports yesterday afternoon (Monday) of a dangerous dog on the loose and attacking a deer in Adderbury.  

Thames Valley Police sent officers to the village after being told of the incident near the Oxford Road.

A national police helicopter was used to support the search for the animal and people asked to call 999 if they saw it.

The dog and its owners were subsequently located by officers, who said an investigation was ongoing. 

No other injuries to the public or animals were reported.
