Jack knifed lorry causes delays on M40 all afternoon

Traffic was backed up to Bicester at one stage

Drivers have been suffering long delays on the northbound M40 after a lorry jack knifed just south of Banbury late this morning.

One lane remained open past the incident, but long queues built up with delays of up to two hours as traffic backing up past Ardley and towards Bicester at junction 9.

The emergency services announced that recovery was in progress shortly after 1pm.

Delays have continued through the afternoon whilst central crash barrier work has been taking place.
