Labour candidate urges MP to reject party funding from Frank Hester

Sean Woodcock challenges Victoria Prentis in the wake of allegations of racism by donor
The man who will be standing for Labour in Banbury at the General Election has written to Banbury’s MP asking her to turn down any Conservative party funds which were provided by Frank Hester.
It is alleged by the Guardian newspaper that Mr Hester made racist comments about the MP Diane Abbott, and other derogatory comments about another female.
In a letter to Victoria Prentis, Sean Woodcock said that whilst in good faith the Conservative Party may have accepted £10m from Mr Hester (or his company) it was only right that the new revelations were taken seriously.
Mr Woodcock called on Mrs Prentis to take a stand on the issue.
He wrote: “Rishi Sunak has refused to return the money.
“This now means it is your responsibility to refuse support from your party if it is funded by Frank Hester’s money.
“Accepting and using that money can only be treated as an implicit condoning of his deeply disturbing comments and the way he has run his business.
“Will you take responsibility and turn down this support?”
Banbury FM has contacted Mrs Prentis offering her the chance to comment on this story.
