Lantern parade leads Brackley into Xmas festivities
27/11/2022
The town’s lights were turned on when the parade reached the Market Place
The festive celebrations are underway in Brackley. The town’s Christmas lights were switched on late on Saturday afternoon after lantern carrying children took part in a parade with their families.
Over the last few weeks lantern making workshops, organised by the Town Council, have given youngsters the chance to be imaginative and make their own creations to carry in the parade.
Hundreds of people joined the procession, which was led by Father Christmas aboard Santa’s Float, accompanied by festive tunes, courtesy of the Brackley and District Round Table. The parade made its way down Brackley High Street watched by the appreciative crowds that lined the route.
After walking around the Town Hall the parade stopped in the Market Place and to a cheer from the crowd the Christmas light were turned on.
Father Christmas then spent time greeting excited youngsters.
