A touching tribute to Banbury’s war dead will be shown each evening

The Remembrance period in Banbury has begun today (November 1) with a short but moving film being projected on to the side of the town hall each evening.   The film is a touching tribute to Banbury’s war dead and serves to commemorate those who lost their lives in two world wars and other conflicts.

The projection will run on a rolling basis every day from dusk until late in the run up to Remembrance Sunday on the 14th and will continue to be shown until the 18th.   It features scenes from photographs taken during the first World War showing Banbury servicemen.

This year’s Royal British Legion poppy appeal is underway and the film includes poppy scenes and details of how members of the public can make donations to the Royal British Legion.

This is the second year a film projection has been included as an integral part of Banbury’s Remembrance period and coincides with the town’s local branch of the Royal British Legion celebrating its centenary.
