Light aircraft crashes into flats in Upper Heyford

A light aircraft has crashed into a block of flats in Upper Heyford. The plane came down at around midday.
The pilot managed to parachute to safety. They suffered several injuries and were taken to hospital. No-one else was injured.
The flats are near Camp Road. Thames Valley Police has put a small cordon in place, but currently no local residents need to be evacuated.
Fire crews from Bicester, Deddington and Banbury Fire Station have been at the scene, supported by a specialist rescue tender crew from Kidlington and water carrier from Wheatley. The Thames Valley Air Ambulance and National Police Air Service have also been at the site of the crash.
Police are asking for anyone with any footage or information to contact them by calling 101, quoting reference 857 (2/4).
