Christine O’Sullivan will sell 60 of her works of art for Katharine House and the Frank Wise School

Two local charities are set to benefit from an online auction of works by a local artist.

Banbury based Christine O’Sullivan is organising three online sales over the next couple of months featuring 60 of her works of art.   All funds raised during the auction will go to support the work of the Katharine House Hospice and The Friends of Frank Wise School.

Christine has been exhibiting across Oxfordshire since 1996 and won the Artwine prize during the Oxfordshire Artweeks event in 2009.   Her work is on display in private collections across the UK.

The charities that will benefit from the auction both mean a lot to Christine.   Her husband Sean worked at the Frank Wise School for 32 years and Christine spent time as an artist in residence, working with pupils to create artworks that still hang in the school today.   She has also been a regular supporter of Katharine House, believing that from their very early days as a local charity it was a good cause to help.

Christine said: “I feel privileged to be able to support these two local charities through my artwork, and I’m hoping that we get a lot of interest to raise much needed funds for both Katharine House Hospice and The Friends of Frank Wise School.”

Katharine House’s Community and Events Manager Cherida Plumb said: “What a beautiful collection of paintings and prints! And such a lovely way to raise money for Katharine House and Frank Wise School – two charities that rely heavily on donations to continue their work in the local community.

“We’re very grateful to Christine for thinking of us and urge everyone to take part in the auction for their chance to get their hands on a stunning piece of art.”

The first auction will run from Monday (February 21) to Thursday March 3 and can be accessed here.
