The project is jointly funded by the DCMS and County Council

Faster broadband us now available at 192 public and local authority sites across Oxfordshire thanks to an initiative to deliver enhanced digital connectivity.

The GigaHubs project is jointly funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Oxfordshire County Council.   It sees gigabit capable broadband installed at locations such as schools, libraries, leisure centres and community centres, along with rural areas where fibre infrastructure is difficult and expensive to provide.

Local installations have taken place at Mollington, Hanwell, the Bourtons, Epwell and Sibford village halls, alongside Hook Norton Library and the Woodgreen Library in Banbury.

Across the county significant benefits have already been seen thanks to the new infrastructure with some village halls and community centres now live streaming events, meetings, clubs and classes.
