COVID infection rates in the Banbury FM area last week fell below 1,000 for the first time this year.
In the seven days up to last Friday 846 people recorded a virus positive test result, which is down from 1,109 the previous week and almost half the pandemic high of 1,652 at the start of January.
A further easing of the remaining COVID rules is expected soon, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson due make a statement on Monday which will lay out a strategy for living with Covid.
