Prabhu Natarajan is set to attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle
A well-known Banbury local-hero is amongst those being recognised as Coronation Champions in awards to celebrate the work of extraordinary volunteers across the UK.
Prabhu Natarajan is amongst 500 people who have been handed-picked by judges for the awards, which have been organised by the Royal Voluntary Service to honour the service of King Charles and the Queen Consort.
Since moving to Banbury in March 2020 Mr Natarajan has worked tirelessly to help others, especially those who are struggling to feed their families. He works up to six days a week in the care sector, alongside running The Lunch Box Project.
Thousands of people aged from 14 to 103 from across the UK were nominated for the awards. The Queen Consort presided over the judging panel.
All 500 Coronation Champions will receive a specially designed, official Coronation Champions pin and a signed certificate from His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. They are also being invited to attend one of the official Coronation celebrations.
Mr Natarajan is set to attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle with his wife Shilpa.
He said: “It would have never ever happened without the support of amazing People of Banbury”.
