EE says services were restored by 9.56am

Homes and businesses across our area were affected by an internet outage this morning as a result of planned work which took place overnight.

Customers using BT’s network, which includes EE and PlusNet were affected, although not everyone lost their service.

The problems with connectivity were first reported at around 1am.

As well as Banbury and Brackley, people in villages including Chipping Warden, Bodicote, Adderbury, Bloxham and as far as Tysoe reported issues.

Some home workers headed to venues such as Bloxham Mill, which was busy with people making use of their internet access.

An EE spokesperson told Banbury FM: “We apologise for the disruption experienced by some customers in Banbury this morning, this was a result of planned works that happened overnight. We can confirm service is fully restored and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused”.
