A suspect has been arrested and bailed
A man has been arrested after police received a report of a male being assaulted with a baseball bat on the fields near Ruscote Arcade in Banbury. The incident happened on Wednesday lunchtime (March 26).
The suspect is a 42-year-old from the town. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with injury, possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Police have now released the suspect on bail whilst their enquiries continue. They are hoping to hear from anyone who lives in the area who may have seen anything of note, or captured footage of use on their CCTV.
A spokesperson said: “We ask if you could please check the footage from your Ring doorbell/similar CCTV system at or shortly before 1.34pm on Wednesday 26th March 2025.
“To let us know if you have any footage that may be of evidential use, please add your contact details in the form at this link, quoting Occurrence number 43250147210.”
