Man in 70s assaulted as he left Banbury’s Weatherspoons

Police are seeking two people, one of whom is known as “Irish Dave”
A man in his seventies was assaulted by two other males as he left the Weatherspoons pub on Banbury High Street. The attack happened last Saturday evening (August 12) at around 8.10pm.
The victim was taken to hospital with fractures to his face, but has since been discharged.
The two attackers – one of whom is known as “Irish Dave” – followed the man as he left the pub. After the assault they left in a grey Hyundai.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The man known as “Irish Dave” is described as white, with blonde hair, wearing a grey T-shirt and bright blue shorts. The second attacker was wearing a white shirt, light blue jeans, had darker hair and was tanned.
Investigating officer PC Campbell, said: “This is a concerning incident with two men assaulting an older man, who could not defend himself.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this assault or that may recognise the men involved to please get in touch.
“We would ask anyone with information to provide it through our online form or by calling 101, quoting reference 43230360156.
“If you do not wish to speak to police but have information you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
