Man in serious condition after assault outside Banbury pub

A cordon has been in place outside the Exchange pub
A man is in hospital in a serious condition after being assaulted outside The Exchange pub in Banbury during the early hours of this morning (Saturday). A cordon has been in place at the scene through the morning.
The victim, who’s in in his thirties, was punched by another man at around 12.30am. He was taken to hospital with a head injury.
A 19-year-old male has been arrested.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Rachel Alexander said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider public.
“Our investigation is in its early stages but we are carrying out a number of enquiries and have already arrested a man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The 19-year-old man from Banbury is currently in police custody at this time.”
Thames Valley Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the assault, who has footage of the assault, or camera footage from the area.
