A CPR challenge, police dog demonstrations and emergency rescue re-enactments are lined up

The work of the Emergency Services will be celebrated in Spiceball Park tomorrow (September 7).

The day is designed to be both exciting and educational with plenty to see and do.

Members of the police, ambulance and fire service teams will be on hand to answer questions about their work and give advice to anyone looking to join.

South-Central Ambulance Service’s will be running their Big CPR Challenge – a competition aimed at getting at least 1,000 people taking part in CPR.   Styled as a competition, the winner of the event will receive a pressure washer.

There will also be police dog demonstrations, emergency rescue re-enactments and an educational display on the duties and tactics utilised by riot officers.

Free life-saving first aid training will be available from the St John’s Ambulance Team.

Families can join in with free activities, including crazy golf and a climbing wall.

A number of emergency vehicles will be in the park to see up close.

Emergency Services Day runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
