MP hosts virtual work experience session

Students learned more about a day in the life of an MP
Banbury’s MP Victoria Prentis played host to students for a virtual work experience session last Friday.
The students asked Mrs Prentis a number of questions. They also joined in with activities designed to replicate the day to day duties in a busy MP’s office.
Mrs Prentis said: “It was fantastic to see so many students on Friday morning who were keen to catch a glimpse of a typical day in the life of an MP.
“The morning began with a Q & A where I got to catch up with the students, speak about their current and future plans, as well as answer any questions they had.
“The students were then taken through a number of activities by members of my team. First was a casework workshop where the students got a flavour of the types of queries constituents had and how we would go about supporting them. Following this, the students split into groups and prepared for a debate activity on local issues.
“The feedback from the session has been overwhelmingly positive and I’m glad the students found it a great learning experience.”
