MP launches Xmas card competition

Primary school children are invited to capture the spirit of the season in our area

We are just eight weeks away from Christmas and, as the supermarket shelves start to fill with festive goodies, Banbury’s MP is hoping a local young person can capture the spirit of the season in our area in a picture for his annual Christmas Card.

Sean Woodcock is encouraging primary school children aged 4-11 to create the design for his cards, which will be sent out across the community.

The artwork should showcase what makes Christmas special in Banbury, Chipping Norton, Charlbury and the villages.   Bright colours are recommended along with avoiding the use of 3D elements, which may not print well.

The winner will be invited in person to receive an award and a copy of their winning card.

Mr Woodcock said: “I look forward to receiving entries from children across the constituency, showcasing what makes Christmas so special in our local area.

“It could be the snow falling by Banbury canal, frosty Middle Barton or the lights on Chipping Norton town hall.    I encourage every primary school aged child to take part and have fun.”

The deadline for submissions is Friday November 21, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday November 26.

Participants can either email a scanned copy to [email protected] with the subject ‘Christmas Card Competition’ or post their design to: Sean Woodcock MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.

A template to use is available here.
