MP weighs up both sides of Assisted Dying debate
27/11/2024
Sean Woodcock is yet to decide how he will vote on Friday
Banbury’s MP Sean Woodcock has thanked the people who attended his online meeting to discuss Assisted Dying legislation last Saturday.
Thirty local people joined the meeting, including a number who expressed their own views.
Mr Woodcock said: “It was moving to hear constituents speak about their own personal experiences and why they support or oppose this legislation.
“I would also like to thank the many local people who have written to me expressing their own views on this subject as well. Please continue to write to me in advance of the vote on November 29th.
“I am still on the fence on this issue, there are powerful arguments on both sides, but I am listening and reading local people’s views on this subject and will continue to do so in advance of the vote.”
Mr Woodcock’s dilemma featured as part of the BBC’s national television news coverage of the issue on Tuesday.
