Multiple appliances sent to deal with Brewery blaze
21/05/2024
Crews remained on site through much of Tuesday
More than ten fire appliances were involved in dealing with the blaze at the Hook Norton Brewery yesterday.
The emergency services were called at 12.33pm after a fire took hold in the roof of the stables block.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Hook Norton, Banbury, Deddington, Charlbury, Burford, Bicester, Kidlington, Chipping Norton, Rewley Road in Oxford, Wantage, Slade and Woodstock fire stations.
Multiple main jets and hose-reels were used to extinguish the fire and protect surrounding buildings so the fire didn’t spread.
Currently the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Some crews were still present at the scene this morning, damping down and assisting with the fire investigation work.
The Brewery said its brewing operation and restaurant were back in operation today. The upstairs of the stables block is leased from the Brewery by an external catering company.
