Nearly 95 percent of Oxfordshire children allocated first choice primary school

6,999 youngsters in the county will start primary education this September
Parents of children who will be starting primary education in September have today found out which school their child has been allocated.
Across Oxfordshire 94.59 per cent were successful in being awarded their first choice of primary school – some 6,613 youngsters.
This year there were 6,999 children who needed primary school places – 206 less than last year.
Just 62 children couldn’t be offered a place at any of their parent’s first four primary education selections.
In West Northamptonshire 4,500 places needed to be found for September’s new primary school starters. 94 per cent of those were allocated a place at their parents first choice school.
