New owner sought to save village Post Office
21/09/2023
Plenty of interest has been shown during the last year but no sale completed
Kings Sutton could lose its local Post Office unless new owners are found for the business. The current owners want to leave for personal reasons, but finding a new owner has proven difficult.
The shop and Post Office on Bulls Lane has been up for sale for over a year. Plenty of interest has been shown in the business and at one stage a sale agreed, until the proposed business plan was rejected by management at the Post Office.
The current team at the business are now encouraging local people to think about the opportunities the location offers. At the moment they operate a retail shop but say people could use the space for other ideas, running alongside the Post Office.
The business is being marketed by Everett Masson and Furby who state the income from the Post Office salary is £21,000 per year with annual sales noted at £80,000 excluding VAT.
The current owners say they want to move on “as soon as possible”.
For those considering taking on the business the Post Office say: “Taking on a business with a Post Office is a commitment that requires an investment in both time and money. You will need to be self-motivated, sales-focused and innovative with a strong business plan and evidence to support this.”
