No meals for NOA students due to freezer and chiller failure
11/09/2023
Its hoped the problem will be fixed by next week
A problem with food storage at the North Oxfordshire Academy has left the school unable to provide meals this week. Initially it was hoped the issue would be resolved by Wednesday, but now its become apparent it will take longer to fix than anticipated.
Yesterday the school informed parents that the kitchen freezer and chiller had failed resulting in a substantial amount of food needing to be thrown away. The problem appeared to be related to the hot weather.
Parents are being asked to send their children to school with a packed lunch and snacks until meals can be provided again. For students who are entitled to free school meals a baguette and fruit will be provided.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We apologise once again and hope this will be resolved by next Monday.”
