Opportunity for direct involvement in decision making at Town Council
08/02/2023
Brackley Town Council has an annual budget of £1m
Do you fancy having a direct say in the things that affect life in Brackley? A vacancy has arisen on the Town Council for the Brackley East Ward following the resignation of Russell Barrie.
Brackley Town Council has an annual budget of £1m and looks after the town’s open spaces, play areas, cemeteries and community buildings. It also organises many popular Brackley events.
The role of a local Councillor is to act as a voice for the community, making decisions and investing time in local projects and issues to the benefit of residents.
The vacancy will be filled by co-option at the April full town council meeting. Anyone wishing to apply has until March 7 to do so.
A notice of the vacancy was published on January 11 offering people 14 days for a minimum of ten people to request a full by-election. As no one did, Councillors may now fill the vacancy by selecting an appropriate candidate themselves.
