Parents ticketed for school drop-off parking infringements
18/12/2024
Concerns had been raised about the situation outside Harriers School
A number of parents dropping off their children at a Banbury primary school have been issued with tickets for parking infringements following complaints to Thames Valley Police.
One parent was given a Section 59 Warning for the manner of their driving.
Members of the Banbury Neighbourhood Team were outside Harriers School on Bloxham Road this morning after receiving regular complaints about parents parking and driving dangerously during school drop off and pick up times.
Posting on social media a spokesperson for the force reminded parents of the rules: “The Yellow ZIG ZAGS are there for the safety of children and no cars should park on them at anytime.
“Should any vehicles be parked on this area they will be given a ticket. Same as parking on the pavements or blocking driveways.”
Officers will continue to monitor the area.
