At its peak extraction is likely to result in 75 lorry loads of materials transported away each day

Plans to extract more ironstone from land to the west of Wroxton village were on show at a public exhibition yesterday (Thursday).

Earthline Limited already extracts minerals from Wroxton Fields Quarry but now wants to work in new areas of the site.   This would provide a further 750,000 tonnes of ironstone, which would take approximately 5 years to extract.

The company will restore the land to its original ground level once extraction has finished, using soils, clays and silts excavated from local construction projects.   The land would be returned to agricultural use with public rights of way back on their original alignment.

Minor ancillary development is also proposed including increased office space and a new staff car park.

At its peak extraction is likely to result in 75 lorry loads of materials being transported away each day using the A422.

An online version of the public exhibition has been made available and Earthline Limited is looking for feedback so they can refine and finalise their development scheme, before submitting a planning application in December.
