Plans to create Porsche EV charging and lounge in Banbury

The aim is to create “a seamless and luxurious experience for electric vehicle owners”
A planning application has been submitted to create an electric vehicle charging facility for Porsche cars in Banbury.
The site, next to Banbury Cricket Club’s Ermont Way ground and opposite the existing Instavolt facility, is currently a grassed area.
Porsche Cars Great Britain want to create the facility which would include a lounge area, soft landscaping and other ancillary facilities.
The applicant says the lounge will include catering and sanitary facilities for customers, for interaction with other visitors and even as a temporary workspace.
They add: “The Porsche Charging Lounge is designed to offer a seamless and luxurious experience for electric vehicle owners while their cars are charging.”
In the current Cherwell District Local Plan the area is intended for “Hotel and Leisure Based Development”.
Anyone wishing to comment on the application has until June 4 to do so.
