A police dog and a taser both had to be used to help police detain three Banbury men who were spotted driving at high speed in the town on Sunday evening.

The car they were in was first seen on Prescott Close.   When it failed to stop officers pursued the vehicle, but the three occupants abandoned the car and ran off.

One was quickly caught, but the second resisted arrest when he was caught, so a taser was used.

Police Dog Juke, accompanied by PC Burton, began the hunt for the third man, who was found hiding in a nearby bush around 30 minutes later.

The three, who are aged between 29 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences.   The 29-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.

All three have all now been released under investigation

This was the first successful track and detain mission for Police Dog Juke, who began his role in December.
