Domestic abuse incidents are known to increase during major football tournaments
A Brackley man is amongst a number of people Northamptonshire Police are seeking to arrest in connection with incidents of domestic abuse. Ryan Petron, aged 26, is from the town.
The force say publicizing the names of individuals they are looking for forms part of the tactics they are using to tackle and raise awareness of domestic abuse during the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. During the tournament, they are releasing a steady stream of individuals they think may be able to help us with their inquiries.
They advise that Petron should not be approached. Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts should call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting the relevant reference number 21000313639.
Detective Inspector Mark Hopkinson from the Force’s Domestic Abuse Team, said: “Domestic abuse incidents are known to increase during major football tournaments. Supported by the whole force the specialist Domestic Abuse Team has been set the task of arresting the county’s most wanted offenders and as part of this intensified effort, we’re releasing photos of those on the list.
“Others featured in the past week have been handing themselves in at police stations and courts across the county. I urge those on this latest list to do the same – we will continue to use all reasonable and necessary tactics to locate you, save yourself the embarrassment of the police visiting your home or work, hand yourself in or expect a knock at the door.”
