There is no information at this stage to link the investigation to migrant accommodation
Police investigating the rape of a woman by a group of men in the churchyard at St Mary’s in Banbury at the weekend have asked people not to speculate about the ethnic background, or origin, of those involved.
The victim, who’s in her thirties, is being supported by trained officers.
Police want to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything in the area between midnight and 2.30am on Sunday.
They also want to speak to a female Good Samaritan who its believed may have tried to help the victim.
At this stage, officers have no further verified description of those involved. They say the online speculation regarding the possible ethnic background, or origin, of the individuals are unfounded and unhelpful to the investigation.
They also confirmed there is no information at this stage to link the investigation to migrant accommodation.
