Polls open for Local Elections
02/05/2024
District, town and parish councillors will be chosen, along with Police and Crime Commissioners
Polls have opened in the Local Elections.
In the Cherwell District one third of the seats on Cherwell District Council are being contested.
Across the border elections aren’t due for West Northamptonshire Council where Councillors are selected every four years. Their next vote is scheduled for May 2025.
Polling will be taking place in both the Cherwell District and West Northamptonshire areas for a Police and Crime Commissioner.
In Banbury all 23 places on the Town Council will be decided by people living in the town.
In the villages Wroxton is the only Parish Council where a vote will take place. An election was due in Adderbury, Ardley, Arncott, Bodicote, Drayton, Hanwell, Horley, Piddington and Stoke Lyne, but in each case the result has already been declared as the number of people standing did not exceed the number of seats available.
People from Deddington will also have their say on a new Neighbourhood Plan.
The polls are open until 10pm and voters will need to take photo ID with them.
This is a full list of Cherwell District Council candidates. (Scroll the list if you can’t see all the candidates down to Launton.)
Details of other election candidates can be found on Cherwell District Council’s website.
