Power cut affects Banbury homes and businesses
26/09/2023
For a short time 2,155 properties were without electricity
171 Banbury properties went without power for around four hours yesterday evening (Monday) after a problem with the high voltage supply in the area caused a cut in their supplies. Parts of the Bankside estate and Sainsbury’s supermarket were affected.
National Grid say they were first notified of the problem at 7.43pm.
A further 1,984 properties in the wider area lost their electricity supply for a short time at around 10.30pm when engineers had to isolate supplies so they could work on the problem.
The issue was finally resolved at 11.04pm.
